I’m curious how many ex partners with BPD or uBPD sought help and showed some form of recovery. Also, if any of the partners later apologized for their part in a relationship. Or if they ever realized their mistakes and tried to restart the relationship.

My story includes my ex coming back after 8 months... he did apologise, profusely, and we re-started the relationship under the agreement of many lessons having been learned, he was also in therapy... and he did certainly seem to be different in the first few months.. but then the same old dynamics came back – with a little less instability than our first iteration... (I think because I had learned I needed to keep quiet more than I had the first time around), but then it got worse, and then went downhill so very badly, and was worse than the first time around. The second time around was extremely damaging to both of us.

There's much more to it, but my ex is not diagnosed or treated, and I didn't know I was dealing with BPD until closer to the end.

My partner has been pregnant 5 times, with each pregnancy she became "normal" there was so much happiness, we could communicate and not argue, I couldn't wait to be around her so would finish wok early, once she wasn't pregnant then everything changed quickly, I don't know how it all works but clearly hormonal changes had a huge impact on her both physically and mentally
