20 years together. Since she was 19. Quiet borderline. Together for 6 years before marriage. She kept it together pretty good. The things I did notice were chalked up to pms.
We have 2 boys 14 and 9. After each birth she had psychotic issues. The second one was bad enough to get admitted and was diagnosed rapid cycling bipolar disorder, and reacted to a new prescribed antidepressant.   It sounded good, but the meds really didn't do anything. She kept it all inside. Her mask rarely slipped.  Until the day she saw me show someone rage for being so disrepectful that I thought it was justified. It triggered her and had gotten a protection order against me. I'm floored at this over reaction to something that she only witnessed and has not experienced from me. Legal silent treatment. I sought therapy.  Order expired. She reengaged me with plans for change. I jumped through her hoops for a summer and fall. She wanted my thoughts and opinions to hers too. I said no. Her first rage. Blame, criticismso, no wins and fight picking. Protection ordered again. I filed for divorce. I learn about BPD. Big picture. All clear now.
