Trying to find residential treatment for my 22 y/o daughter

Hello,

I am  trying to find residential treatment for my 21 y/o  daughter.  It seems most centers focus on addiction.   That is not her issue.  Help !   I would love to get any recommendations and or advice.

We looked into residential treatment for my daughter and explored 4 different options:
1. Clearview BPD program in Los Angeles, they have residential, and intensive outpatient. It's sort of new and not covered by insurance so we didn't do that one.

2. The Hill Program at Mclean - covered by insurance but only 2 weeks and will not take women with active self destructive coping problems:eating disorders, addiction, cutting, etc. They said that patients cannot benefit from the intensity of the program if they are still actively coping in negative ways. My daughter's eating disorder is only recently recovered so they said no which was too bad. We really liked it.

3. Four Winds in Westchester, NY - short term intensive DBT with a crisis focus. Has intensive outpatient DBT as well. My daughter was too stable for this program. Seems like they take people after suicide attempts or other similar crises.

4. Menninger Clinic young adult program - long term comprehensive and very expensive. Does not take insurance so we could not afford out of network cost.

We wound up enrolling in an intensive outpatient program in NYC for young adults that takes our insurance. Its 10-4 every day and she is exhausted afterwards be it seems to be making a big difference. We also looked at Roosevelt/Mt. Sinai Center for Intensive Treatment of Personality Disorders. Its 6 months long minimum and patients are tiered depending on their acuity. It looked good and they took insurance

Hello Buttonbutton

We tried the same thing here in Australia but when I looked into it they only had one BPD session per week so we decided it was better to take her to the sessions that specialize in BPD and save $10000 a month. The sessions have helped a lot and shes coping much better.
