New member looking for support

I am a 71 year old married woman with a 46 year old bp  daughter who is also an addict. After many years of doing it on my own I recently sought professional help. I am currently reading  "The Essential Family Guide to Borderline Personality Disorder". This site was recommended for additional support.

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

You sound like an amazing person to have managed all those years on your own.

I'm just wondering, was there anything specific that led you to seek professional help?

Is it just you that you sought help for or is it for both you and your daughter?
