Finally blocked her on FB. It's going to be hard to resist the urges to check up on her, but I'm going to try.

She's been out of my life for so long now there's no reason I need to try to keep her a part of me.  I need to just be done, and let go.

Hopefull ya'll won't be seeing me much on here for a while anyway.

I know the feelings come and go.

I agree that’s a sign that you know that you need to let go. If you get tempted to peek on FB turn to the boards and talk about it. The members on this board help you by keeping you grounded. I’m happy to see that you deserve better by taking bf care of your needs and moving on.

Shedd -- how long has it been for you?   I appreciate your comment on the feelings coming and going.   There are times when I feel very confident, and then they immediately follow with times when I want to just wake up and this is all to just be a very bad dream... .

It’s been about a year NC but it’s been about 2? Years  since we broke up. I’ve been able to focus on myself more because I’m living by myself and it is helping me move on I think. There are times I wish she was here I could share this place with her then I miss her and go into the dark hole again, but I refuse to let her cause me any more grief. It’s part of my past and I am ready to move on and look into the future.

I can tell I’m getting stronger because I don’t talk about her like at all anymore she’s hardly ever on my mind.

How about you? How long has it been?

Shedd --- it has been about 5 months here... .   I have my moments.   Mostly because I don't really understand it all even though he was textbook (and then some) BPD.   I didn't have the knowledge of what it was until I came upon the information that is shared here.   I knew it wasn't normal -- but his mother is an extreme BPD parent... .so I always thought it was inherited idiosyncrasies... .  and in some ways it is.   I lost my husband  prior to this relationship.   We were very close, but this has actually been more difficult in some ways.   Maybe it's just the lack of understanding and closure.     It is nice to hear from people who keep in touch with the board and give hope to the future.   Smiling (click to insert in post)
