Hi guys,

This is the first time I have joined a forum like this of any kind. I have a 19yo step-daughter who has a 20mo son who has just been diagnosed with BPD. she is my Step daughter but has resided with her father and I for most of her life. After her recent attempt at taking her own life she was diagnosed with BPD. We have moved SD and grandson back in with us for what we presume is the long term.

I guess given a diagnosis has given me some relief... .SD has a real love hate relationship particularly with me - the diagnosis seems to explain so much and also, allows me to understand the hateful outbreaks so much more. I am in the process of learning about BPD, and came across this site and thought I might join to learn more and understand more about what we are all going though... .I don't really have any questions right now but thanks for allowing me to join... .

Hello livin

I would like to join DremNCWgrl in welcoming you here.

It sounds like your SD is very lucky to have you as her step mom, you obviously love her very much and have her best interests as well as her baby son’s at heart.

You say that you are in the process of learning about BPD, you will find much information here on the site, just look to the right  Bullet: important point (click to insert in post)

Hope to hear more from you when you are ready x
