My fear of a crisis
«

Hi,
My daughter is 22 and was diagnosed about 15 months ago. I have taken and now teach the Family Connections course which provides me with skills when and around a crisis.
I have something new that has come up for me. It’s my fear of the next crisis. I am always her last resort and the one that gets the most desperation from her.
My anxiety is through the roof just anticipating the next crisis. I’m not sure how to bring that down for me.
There are some skills I can use like benign interpretation and radical acceptance and have been using them. Just not very successfully right now.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi GerberDaisy
Welcome (back!) to BPD Family.
You know the skills that can bring you relief but you're not using them successfully right now. I can certainly relate to that. I "know" what to do to help myself feel better, I just don't always do it.
Are you seeing a T? Do you think you might have some depression going on? For me, when I'm depressed, it makes doing things much more difficult. Especially doing things that I "know" are good for me

Can you share, describe the crisis', are they similar?

Hi,
I can really relate to fearing the next crisis. I’m new and don’t know about the training or methods you’re talking about, but I know you’re human and it’s hard to live under these uncertain conditions. For me it seems to be moment by moment. I’m trying to stop in my tracks, breathe deeply, pray for God to handle the things I can’t, and refocus. It’s the hardest thing ever.
