18 years ago I came here. I read the book I came here.  It took me so many times before I was able  to leave my BPD bf.  I have not had any contact since 2011.

I found out that he passed away Friday suddenly of heat stroke.  Not sure why a flood of emotions keep coming back.  I know I am forgetting how difficult it was and only remembering the good.  I have my own regrets that I generally have to keep to myself.

This too shall pass I hope.

Thnx

I'm so sorry.  Please be extra kind to yourself.

If you want to describe your emotions in more detail...I'm up for listening.

Best,

Hi.  I am so sorry for your loss, and yes, even years later there are going to be feelings about this.

Please post as you need to.  We can listen and support you.

kklblue, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your BF.  We engage in R/S with people and somehow become enmeshed in the dysfunction.  We love our partners--at least love the side of themselves they present to us--but we are then exposed to the Hyde part of their personalities.  The hard part is accepting this. Sometimes we have to move on.

Remember the good times, but also remember why you went NC.  This will keep things in perspective.
