Support Groups for Parents

Hello:

This is my first effort to reach out and get help to understand my 25 year old daughter better. She was diagnosed this past year, and I know she needs me to learn how better to relate to her. Does anyone know how to find groups run in my area?

Heavy hearted and sad.

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

Welcome to this online group. I am glad you found us. This is a great place to learn the communication skills that will improve your relationship with your daughter. I don't know what to tell you about in person support groups. If you are in the US you may want to look into Family Connections. They have classes in many cities. Also check local hospitals. Sometimes they have support groups too
