This is a first for us, but after Wednesday's co-joint meeting with dd 20 and her DBT therapist and psychologist, she has severed contact with me.

I leave for a 3 week overseas holiday with my youngest son in 3 days time which has been planned for a year.

I think all I can do is radically accept that while she is in this split, there is nothing I can do and I need to fully give myself over to my son and the trip...what else can I do...and just bear my broken heart privately. (And here).

Accept it. Let her go. Enjoy your holiday.

Aw MomSA...so hurtful to feel rejected by one's child.   I am so sorry this is happening to you.    : ((

In your own words..."I think all I can do is radically accept that while she is in this split, there is nothing I can do..."  That is the absolute reality of the situation.

I think it is great that you are about to go on this planned-ahead trip with your son.  Hopefully you can make this a happy diversion...relishing in the healthy relationship you share with him.

Do you think one of the reasons your daughter has pulled the pin on communicating is that she is jealous you are going on this trip with him?

Huat

She was meant to be coming with us, ticket booked and everything. She started a job, which she has kept for 4 months, which didn't allow her time off.

She's severed communication as we have instead on twice weekly drug testing if she wants to keep the car.

thank you for your wishes, we are very excited for our trip Smiling (click to insert in post)
