Three weeks ago after a reveal of semi-infidelity we had an argument where she threatened suicide if I left her, then threatened suicide in front of the kids, tried to escalate the argument into physical violence by slapping me (not hard, but yeah) and when all else failed began exaggerating any contact between us as though I was attacking her (e.g. at one point she started screaming for the children and when I tried to restrain her threw herself onto the ground and told them I was hurting her causing my oldest daughter to start screaming at me). I ended up calling the police to stop any further escalation and spent the night at a hotel.
This morning my wife asked me for a hug after having a nightmare, since I’m pretty much terrified of her right now this was way out of my comfort zone and I refused. I have no way of telling what the right reaction should have been and now I’m just waiting for the fallout from the rejection. Has anyone else ever been in this situation?
