Really need help

How do I as someone who struggles with mental illness help my adult child?
I have tried for the past 30 years to be strong but suffer great depression and anxiety my whole life
Certainly should not have had kids.

I am so so tired of being strong

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

I know your daughter is on SSDI. Does she take medication for the bipolar and schizoaffective disorders?

I'm also aware that long-term housing and support for mental illness isn't always available, and you may have already shared this, but are there any agencies in your area that can offer support?

What boundaries have you set with her?

I've often thought about the fact that i have had to be very strong throughout this whole ordeal.
Today I just felt defeated.

Here is CA they only offer 5-10 days in a psych hospital, there is no long term care at minimal cost.
The average price for private placement can be 5-15 K a month.

Boundaries? Gosh probably not enough. I know I should not feel responsible but she did not choose to be born,
nor did she choose to have such a terrible childhood.

If you can help me with certain boundaries I'd be very grateful

We don't have long-term mental healthcare in my state, either...funding was cut drastically about 10 years ago. So hard.

If you identify one or two things that you find particularly challenging, we'll work together to develop a better boundary. How does that sound?
