New story he is telling me which makes him the victim

My pwbpd friend is my former lover in active treatment for bpD.
The old story re Gf:
amazing, incredible, all he ever wanted, high on a pedestal, commited to him
New story re Gf:
not commiting fully, changes mind, ignoring him, hurting him emotionaly, contradicts her self.
He gave completely contradictory accounts of what he says she said are reasons for her to go long distancing him. It was such a clear tactic making him the victim and her the villian. Then he starts dropping random bitz of information that she is doing things that I told him an age ago I am planning to do. Hiking in a particular place. Setting up the same type of business venture. The details were like he had combined "me" with his "Gf"...what the hoot!
The stories became more bizarre. He said they did joint fertility tests. He boasts about how fertile she is. Months ago he told me they have had 3 pregnancy scares (3! In under a year). <Sidebar, I am older then him and for some reason he has the idea that I am worried about my fertility> [spoiler alert: I am very fertile and it aint a worry!].
It was weird hearing the increasingly odd stories and see him trying to guage my reaction. He tried so hard to get some thing more than I was giving. In the end all I felt was pity. Such pity. If its true, I feel pity for both people. If its not true I also feel pity for both people. Is it bpd, regular personality, a plot, lies, or aome thing twisted and sinister. I dunno what? I feel such pity for him :'(
