I’m in process of adopting my niece and nephew. Both with significant trauma and niece has BPD. It’s been 22 months of hell!
I’m so mentally physically emotionally spiritually exhausted! I’m trying to find therapy for myself. I’ve been so depressed and anxious. She starts DBT but honestly has been in CBT for 20 months & such little progress and I’ve fought so hard for every service they have received.
I feel like such a failure daily. I’m a single mom trying to raise 3 teens 2 with sever mental health issues & one that’s really a great kid but over it herself.

But thanks for having me. Praying I find some solace and peace on here!

Blessings & love to you all!

Hello MaAuntie322, glad you reached out for some more support.

Adoption plus trauma plus BPD is a lot to handle. Can I ask, how old are the kids? Did your niece receive an official BPD diagnosis?

I hear your exhaustion coming through, at every level. It makes sense to me that you'd feel spiritually exhausted as well. Looking for counseling for yourself is so wise. I see a personal counselor, and my H and I see a marriage counselor together. Both the counselors share many aspects of my spiritual worldview, so that is really helpful to me in terms of spiritual exhaustion.

You mention three teens; am I tracking with you that it's your niece, your nephew, and then a child of your own? Teens are a LOT. Are all three of them in school in person? If so, how is the support there? Sometimes the school counselors can be helpful.

Looking forward to more updates from you,
