Hi,

This is my 1st post on here and I'm looking to hopefully find others that can relate to my story, or provide some advice/insight.

My BPD ex and I were together 10 months and broke up in January, yet we kept in contact until March. 2 months after breaking up she decided to tell me she had already replaced me and moved on. After 4 months of dating her new gf, the new gf proposed to her and bpd ex said yes.

Our breakup was initiated by bpd ex because she was moving to another state to be with her family and she wanted us to "figure ourselves out before moving states together". She met this new girl in February, started dating / living together in March, and now engaged after 4 months and her new gf is moving with her.

Is this normal? Is this behavior common with BPD?

is it ordinary behavior to be in a new relationship within 2 months of a breakup? it is.

is it ordinary behavior to be engaged in a new relationship after 4 months? it is.

is it ordinary behavior to initiate a breakup because one is moving states? it is. it is also common for reasons given to be incomplete, or subject to change.

im not saying any of its good or bad (i personally, as a rule, wouldnt be engaged to anyone that quickly, but thats me; it happens all the time). nor am i saying there is or isnt anything "bpdish" about any of it. but it is common, every day behavior.

regardless, it may come as a blow. it almost always does, seeing a partner in a new relationship.

how are you holding up?
