Stockholm Syndrome

Thanks to whoever posted about Stockholm Syndrome.  I have found it interesting and in a weird way, somewhat calming. Reading about the "why" of how our son treats us, right now, helps me more than reading more about the sick, sick, mental health issue of our uBPD/n DIL. Sadly, his behavior fits Stockholm Syndrome about as much as our DIL fits BPD/n.

It's a very interesting concept, louise, and I'm glad that reading about it is helping you. Knowing what you know now, does it change how you view your relationship with your DS and DIL?

Hi Geeky,

I don't think reading about Stockholm Syndrome changes, per say, my view of my relationship between DS  and DIL. From our experiences, DIL is still one very sick woman. The crap son would write us I now recognize as "cognitive dissonance".

I understand with a different perspective the need to continue not contacting son per his request.
