Hi all,

My BPD partner has few friends and when she does communicate with them it’s only for a purpose or attention seemingly.   None of the connections seemed genuine from her behalf.   Strangely though, they all seemed to be obsessed with her and she would inform me of how confused and angry some of them would get when she didn’t return their affections.   One of her male friends who was in a relationship at the time even stopped talking to her at a time because he felt rejected and wanted sex and suggested they should be in an open relationship o.O.   Some would also have pictures of her on their wall or profile pics.  Are these friends delusional or is she playing games with everyone?  She acts like she doesn’t understand what’s happening and that they are just acting weird.
Is this typical BPD behaviour or more comorbid NPD/BPD?

Domino123,

Welcome

pwBPD seem to "collect" other friends and people with some sort of dysfunction.  My first thought when reading this was these extra people are into drama.

https://bpdfamily.com/content/karpman-drama-triangle

That's a very early read on the situation.  After reading the article, do you see behaviors that fit?

Perhaps she wants to be rescued but doesn't realize or want to admit it.

How does this post apply to your relationship?
