Hi I'm new around here. I am married with 4 kids from middle school to preschool. My marriage has been a roller coaster from day 1 with lots of mitigating factors. Everything hit the fan last spring when I learned my spouse was having an affair. It has been very difficult. Recently, I started reading about BPD and I am pretty sure my husband could qualify for an official diagnosis if he were seeking one. We both are in individual counseling and we are about to begin marital counseling. I am interested in learning a lot more about living in a family with BPD.

Welcome Run4Fun
I am glad you found us! There are wonderful, helpful folks here. They can help with questions about handling specific situations. The Lessons on the right side of this page are amazingly helpful too!
I have a bunch of children, age 1 to 26, so I understand how children complicate things. I am sorry you had to deal with an affair. I am sure that is extremely painful! If you can try to see the good in all situations - it seems like it brought change - hopefully for the better.
You are very fortunate that you and your spouse are in individual counseling! Many pwBPD (people with BPD) will not even acknowledge that they have a problem, let alone go to counseling. MC (marriage counseling) can be tricky, so be careful! My uBPDh (undiagnosed BPD husband) used MC for trying to fix me, who he believes is the only problem we have :'(
