But I'm feeling paralyzed!  The judge agreed on the condition that he will enter into a 12-15 month long residential treatment program in NY.

.

I've spent hours online, called every resource I know but I can't find anything that would be a good fit.

There are some non profit rehabs that would take his SSD like Phoenix House and Odyssey House but they don't offer any MH services (even though their websites say they do).  There are a couple of psych hospitals but they wouldn't keep him long enough.  He needs a dual diagnosis place.

It has to be NY so I'm limited and I just don't know where to look.  Most are outpatient and if we don't find a program then he has to go back to CO and do 3 years in prison.

I'm so frustrated right now and angry that this country is so messed up when it comes to the mentally ill.

There aren't even any expensive programs here which we couldn't afford anyway because we've run out of funds.

Yes he has a drug problem and he needs treatment but he has to get the other part too.  He needs DBT and a therapist and a good psychopharmacologist and the drug rehabs won't allow any outside help.

I was so happy to hear that the judge approved his move but now I'm beginning to feel hopeless.

cfh,

I am sorry that you are having such a difficult time.   Certain websites claim to have Mh services, but really don't?

Can you broaden your criteria a bit?  I know it sounds like a rock and hard place.  I would say just about all addicts have a dual diagnosis.  So, they should all be dual treatment.

I hope you can find a place in NY.

I wracking by brain trying to come up with another idea... .  another place to try but I've hit a wall.

I feel like I contacted every place in NYC.  So scared that now that he has this chance it will all backfire.
