How do you protect yourself if you do divorce

I don't know if this is th right place to ask these questions but I don't know where to go. My BPDw has threatened to "break up". She doesn't use the word divorce. Here is my problem. I want to end this relationship but I won't engage that topic or be the one to do it. I feel liek she will then say "Thers ee I told you you don't love me and never did. Thats why you wan to leave" Even if she brings it up I jump on putting it together. I think thats what she wants to see. Thats how she knows I care. If I fight to keep it together.
However if it does go the way of divorce what things do I need to keep inmind to protect my self financially, emotional, mentally. We don't have kids. Once I figured she had these issues I didn't want to bring a child into this. I don't want to loose everything. Just the weight of the realtionship and its heavy baggage.

If you want a divorce you will have to be the one to make it happen. She will stay all talk and threats.
How do you protect yourself? Get a lawyer, get informed, read on the divoce board and use the resources that are posted there.
If you really want out you are going to have to build the strength, commitment and knowledge and do it. And be forwarned, it almost always gets worse when the D word goes into play.
