Hi,

does anyone know of support groups in NYC where people meet and talk about their experiences and suffering with their BPD partners or family members? Similar to this website, but in person?

Thanks!

Well, I live in NYC, but have yet to hear of a support group.  If you want to meet face-to-face, shoot me a private message, and we'll speak on it.

I'm in there area.  I'd be happy to do it.

There is some sort of group in NYC designed for family members and sufferers of BPD - I forget what it's called - but the woman who runs it tends to blame the family members, saying they just have to put up with the mental illness and assume their pwBPD is a good person.  She also disparages the "walking on eggshells" book.  So I am not confident about that group.  I called when I first thought my husband had BPD and the woman told me I sounded "angry."  Ya think?

Though it is not restricted to BPD survivors, CoDependents Anonymous has meetings in most areas. Just Google it.

You're welcome. In addition to CODA (Co-Dependents Anonymous), and depending on the behavior of a particular pwBPD, you could also check out Al-Anon, Co-Anon (SO's of cocaine addicts), and COSA (Co-Sex Addicts).

and i looked up CODA and in fact there are two meetings within walking distance.  thanks again!
