I don't know how to describe what I am feeling. I am wondering if you have felt this way. Last weekend I really felt that my daughter turned a corner for the better. It has been a long haul, about 7 years!  I am feeling more anxious than ever this week even though I don't seem to have reason.

Hello Heavenly, and welcome to BPD Family.

You state that your daughter turned a corner for the better last week-end, Does she have BPD?  You are also saying that you are quite anxious and you have no reason, is this something that you experience frequently, or is it  to do with your daughter? I would love to hear more about whats going on in your life. It sounds as if you are a parent with a BPD child, so I am going to recommend that you retell your story on the [L5] Parenting a Son or Daughter Suffering from BPD board. on this board you will find other parents that can give advice and listen, you will also find lessons and tools on the right hand side of the board. They are very helpful as well.

I will look for you on the L5 board.

I understand how you feel.  When things are going well, we are so afraid that the "dam will burst" and it will be "hell" all over again.  After all, that has been our experience.  It is hard to "enjoy" the moments when one is always waiting, waiting ... .

Hello Heavenly.

Please do join us on the parent's board-there are many of us there to talk to and some of us will be in similar situations to yourself.

The parent's board is a very supportive place, when you feel ready do follow Tristesse's link and share more of your story.

Mother's intuition.  I have come to respect the senses we mothers have, whether it be peace or dread.

Heavenly

Years of BPD behavior have conditioned us to hope for the best and fear the worst. Often the good times seem to be prepping us for a looming disaster, which explains our heightened anxiety.

It is the nature of BPD to fluctuate, and we cannot control how it affects our loved-ones, why, or when. What we can do is prepare ourselves emotionally for whatever happens, so that we are not caught off guard.

Enjoy the peace, but do not allow yourself to believe the disorder is gone. To do so would be setting yourself up for heartbreak.  Take life day by day.
