This is probably a VERY SHALLOW topic, but this occurrence really stunned me:
My BPDw was listening to music when we were in bed last night. She played the newer Taylor Swift song "Blank Space" - a song that to me clearly suggests BPD. I actually like Taylor Swift too (don't judge). I have to completely agree, however, that
Blank Space
sets off the warning sirens. I was struck by the BPD characteristics too the first time I heard it.
I think this is very common in music and film, though. And my theory is that BPD is so close to what we all really want in love. Deep down, we all want a BPD-like relationship without the disorder. We want to have a relationship where we feel so completely seen, that feels so intensely passionate, that features such admiration of each other that it nears idolization, that loves so completely without any inhibition, that feels like all our dreams come true. We all want
Romeo and Juliet
deep down.
Edit: I should add literature to music and film, but let's just say art in general.
