we can all evolve into someone beautiful

Many of us have been living under high stress levels for so long we may not even recognize that underneath our fear, anxiety, and frustration we are actually depressed.  Some us may have become numb from the ongoing high stress levels we have experienced as a means to keep functioning... .and underlying our numbness is depression.

Our thoughts race, we have ruminating fear based thoughts, and we don't sleep well.  All these situations and activities can literally alter our brain chemistry and deplete us of serotonin.

Do you know the signs of depression?  Here is some information and a self assessment  report to determine if you are suffering from depression and what you can do to give yourself a hand up and out of depression.

Depression:  Stop being tortured by your own thoughts.

What will you do to help yourself deal with your depression?

Dad to my wolf pack

Though I have concerns about S5 (soon to be 6) and his often raw emotional, state (which we've observed since he was 2), I don't qualify as a member here. However, I had a tough weekend with him and D2. Multiple tantrums by both, both days. I wonder, "am I handling them right, better than their uBPD mom, and different than my BPD mother did to me?" I'm not doagnosed, but depressive thoughts have plauged me for over two years.

I always thought I knew what to do, but given S5's recent acting out at school (being written up twice),.I'm not so sure now. I'm aware of the validation techniques. I know that I'm 7 years away from teen like behaviors (D3 smacked me on the head tonight because she was mad at me). I feel.weak for thinking this is hard yet, given the stories I see here... However, it's depressing feeling alone in this. I see some parents who have a spouse whose actions might as well make one feel as if they are alone.

What helps me? Getting out of the house. Hike in nature. Try to realize that it's not up to me to fix everything.
