somuchlove:

Lexapro would be a daily med for depression and/or anxiety.  It is generally taken as a daily med and can be helpful.  My dad had BPD traits and when we could get him to take Lexapro, the family noticed that he was less grumpy and angry.

Xanex is a Benzo.  It is best to use as an occasional, as needed med. for anxiety.  It can be addictive, and people who take it regularly keep needing higher and higher doses.

I don't think there is a specific med for BPD in general.  Each person with BPD is a little different.  It is common for people with BPD to have depression and anxiety and both these meds are possible meds to deal with those issues.
