My son has bp, and based on his review and my reading his father is a high function bp.  My son was a high functioning bp and is now showing signs of low functioning.  I was not aware of this disorder but reading various books it has become clear that he was born with the disorder, and our inter family did not  provide the environment to stop further growth as his father it appears has the same disorder.  My family in which i was born had mental illness.  I have worked hard to provide myself with an environment where I am able to function well and live my life, but suffer from having a son who does not accept me as I am and blames me.  Which evidently is common.  My current husband has seen my son who is now over 30 have issues and now helps me to stay strong from the heart break I have.  I am helpful this will let me have a place to not feel alone in this

Hello Reb, welcome to the BDDFamily, thank you for sharing with us what you are going through, you are not alone

Your husband is supportive and understands Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

Do feel comfortable to share a bit more about your son - how he is, what you are dealing with, his behaviours, is he in treatment.

Very best to you Reb, see you soon, as we walk forwards here, gentle steps.
