Hi.  I am posting for the first time.  My therapist has suggested that my 26 yo daughter most likely has BPD.  In my heart I have known this for a long time, and have gone for counseling over the years, but no one has ever made this "diagnosis" before.  This behavior has probably been exacerbated by the recent sudden deaths of my 27 yo daughter (9 months ago) and my husband (5 months ago).  Having difficulty dealing with the grief of having lost my daughter, I sought counseling 6 months ago.  But, after having lost my husband, the pain of loss combined with the emotional roller coaster I've ridden for 20 plus years, I returned to counseling this week.  My counselor suggested Stop Walking on Eggshells, which I have just begun reading.  It is there that I learned of this website.  I look forward to reading, learning and support from you.

Best,

Hi FyDvTl

I am very sorry you lost both your 27yo daughter and your husband in such a short period of time. That's a lot to have to deal with. I can understand that you would find it difficult dealing with the grief.

You are also dealing with your 26yo daughter whom you now suspect has BPD. What are the BPD traits you see in your daughter?

I can imagine that losing her sister and father would also have a serious impact on your remaining daughter. Has she talked to you about how she is coping with these losses?

Take care and welcome to bpdfamily
