Hello all.  I am the mom of a 17 yr old with traits of BPD.  We have been dealing with her illness for about two years now.  In the last 2 years, she has been hospitalized twice, cut her wrist and taken pills twice.  She had to leave school and was trying to go to online high school but that also was something she was struggling with.  She says she doesn't see herself ever getting any better and she's just exhausted from it all.  It's so difficult just watching her suffer and not knowing how to help her.  I feel guilty whenever I feel like I need a break (which I have not taken) but I'm not sure how much more I can handle right now. Any and all support and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hello there , fellow mum here of a BPD DD 17 , also been dealing with this hell for 2 years , 7 hospitalizations in ( last one in march lasted 3 weeks ), predominantly due to overdosing /self harm, navigating the nightmare that is mental health services , trialing medication cocktails , therapists , doctors , dealing with self harm , extremely risky behaviors including substance abuse , promiscuity , dressing and behaving like a hooker ,meeting strangers from online for one night stands  , out of control behaviors , loser friends and boyfriends , failing at traditional school and needing much encouragement and micromanaging to succeed at online school , then the grand finale - getting into trouble with the police and now on probation ( for marijuana use). You are in good company here , welcome Smiling (click to insert in post)
On the plus side , we seem to be going through a good spell ! I don't want to jinx it !
