Before you can make things better, you have to stop making them worse... Have you considered that being critical, judgmental, or invalidating toward the other parent, no matter what she or he just did will only make matters worse? Someone has to be do something. This means finding the motivation to stop making things worse, learning how to interrupt your own negative responses, body language, facial expressions, voice tone, and learning how to inhibit your urges to do things that you later realize are contributing to the tensions.

Stranger danger.

There is some really wrong in that body of work. Here is a video from the author this last week.

Here is a review of her work:

https://www.youtube.com/user/AshleyBerges ... .is there any synopsis on this particular resource ?

i skimmed her videos and without listening it looks like theres some good material. im listening to a video on BPD, and im not sure shes a good source or authority for learning about personality disorders.

heres the thing, the internet is a minefield of junk psychology and urban legends, i might even say its at least 90% trash. even a skeptical mind can get a distorted picture about human nature vs pathological behavior.

we have a link here on tips for navigating, some questionable (or worse) resources, and some really good ones. https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=161211

the books on our reviewed list are top notch: https://bpdfamily.com/content/book-reviews

there are also vetted resources in our Learning Center boards.

and a personal favorite of mine, a video including the worlds leading experts: https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=117774.0

If anyone wants to genuinely connect with the feelings and experiences of their loved ones or friends who suffer from BPD I strongly advise watching all of the "having a life worth living" videos on YouTube.

Having A Life Worth Living

I understand that many people on the board have had some horrific experiences at the hands of their loved ones but these videos give true insight into the depths of emotions pwBPD suffer on a daily basis. I cry every time knowing this is how my uBPDw feels, using exactly the same phrases in her diary.
