Q; How many BPD mothers does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: BPD mothers don't need to change anything. Anyway, if you really loved me, you'd have already changed it. Fine, I'll just sit in the dark. After all I've done for you.

Three dysfunctional mothers are having coffee and chatting about their children.
The first says, "I'm so proud of my little Jack, who just got in the school marching band. All I had to do was tell him how disappointed I'd be if he didn't make it."
The second says, "That so wonderful, and it reminds me of my little Peter, who just got accepted at Julliard. All I had to do was refuse to feed him until he'd finished three hours of practice every day."
The third says, "You must be so thrilled, and it reminds me of my little Robbie, who just played first violin with the Boston Philharmonic. All I had to do was beat him with a broomstick every time he got a note wrong."
The other two look at her in shock. "That's horrible," they say.
"I know, I know. When I was his age I was playing Carnegie Hall. But I've done the best I can with the lazy little sh1t."

Hi stellaris
Humour generally definitely can have its value. Finding a right balance can sometimes be tricky though.
So what led to your humourous mood today?
Is this something you do to help you cope?

Most definitely it helps me cope. It's either anonymously share dark humour or vent my reactive abuse rage in a drug-fueled killing spree.
OK, that was also humour. Too dark?

Too dark?
I'll let Jiminy Cricket field that one.
Instead, how about a 9-year-belated hello.

My mother implicitly communicated to me 5 years ago that I needed to go back to school, the message was that I hadn't made anything of myself, so I can relate to the last joke, even if she wasn't so blatant. She was more talking about herself and her own regrets, like the third mom who played Carnegie Hall, though my mom isn't an NPD type like that mom.

Nine years is a long time indeed. What would you say are the most important lessons you've learned in these years?
Humour has been a valuable coping mechanism for you. Have you perhaps also developed other helpful coping strategies that you would like to share with the membership? Nine years of cricket experience can be very helpful for us all
