Feeling my child will harm herself

We’ve known for a year that our daughter has BPD and this has been the longest year of our lives. Last Christmas we took the kids on a cruise and came home to hell! She was dating a boy that is a drug dealer and supposed gang member. We found videos of him basically feeding her drugs. We had run ins with him and ultimately had her in children’s hospital then to a full on residential rehab. That’s when we found out she has BPD. She of course was suicidal, only thought he was the person that could take care of her was extremely angry at us for putting her into this place. She was there for 3 months came out and went right back to him. For an entire year we have tried to keep her away but yesterday I finally realized that it’s out of our hands. It’s not easy for me since my own brother committed suicide but as I’m following this guy blocked him in with my car got out crying and begging him to leave my daughter alone to which he lied to me about being with her. She was hiding around the corner... dealing with yet another set of police officers feeling so helpless I told myself you can’t do this again for another year!

Hi Wes
Thanks for writing and welcome to our group. We understand fully how devastating BPD can be. I surmise that your daughter is at least 18 years old ? Is she living with you or the boyfriend?
