Is it a common practice for someone with BPD to repeatedly spoof their phone number, and then call you and hang up?

Hi perplexed!
This type of behavior is fairly common, I'm sure.
I looked back through some of your previous posts to see if I could catch up a little. As of October it seems there was some number blocking. Are they blocked right now, or are you?
Assuming you can't identify the number that's calling, why do you think they're doing it? Can you give us some context?

About half my calls are spam calls. Google Fi is a provider that often identifies them in red as spam. The calls spoofed as with my area code and matching exchange are almost always calls that hang up after a few seconds. I assume they're only determining which are working lines. Any unknown callers I let go to voicemail or I have Google answer and then I watch what text is echoed to me.
