After years of unpredictable behaviour which escalated during lockdown, my daughter has just started therapy and been told she has BPD. I am reeling with how to support her. She is using her diagnosis to justify things she does not want to do. Any advice?

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

Welcome!
This is great news that she is willing to go to therapy!  Is she an adult or a minor child?

~For now  read up on all you can with BPD  and this forum is a good place to start. Look through the drop down menus. You can also click onto anyone's name here to read their past posts / get back stories.
~Realize this will be an ongoing process with her, and there will be no one easy fix.  So patience  is key.
~ As you are able, can you give more info re: what she is justifying?  We can maybe give some ideas for you putting boundaries in place.
