Daughter newly diagnosed after first hospitalization. Cut me out of her life.

First post. Heartbroken. But staying open to her. My adult daughter is 22 — bright, beautiful, wonderful person — seemed paranoid and was splitting in what seemed to be bursts. Hospital just kept her safe but she refused any help. She moved out of her house and is in a hotel. Quitting college. Quit her job. She’s rapidly changed and is out of touch with reality. No drug or alcohol hx. She’s a teetotaler. Has PTSD. Docs dx BPD and it makes sense. So scary to see her like this and feel helpless. I just needed to be with others in this experience. I love her so much.

Hi there,
Welcome and know you are not alone, you are among kindred spirits here. There are many here including myself , that are dealing with our adult BPD kids estrangement. Here is an article from this forum on the subject that I have to re read weekly :https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=296973.0
You can also click onto anyone's name here to get their back story, as long as you are signed in. While my son managed to graduate college, he completely lost it when it came to adulting thereafter . Could not keep a job, got into drugs, became violent, etc. He used to be deeply spiritual, a history buff with a hilarious sense of humor.
Is your daughter continuing to pursue therapy? Meanwhile, you need a network yourself and good for you to reach out here. We understand your heartbreak , and it is terrifying to see our beloved child turn into a stranger/ someone we don't understand. Please take a look around the forum. Click on to
