Great weekend!

I had a great weekend. Normally when I have a great weekend I think of the things when daughter was with me and wish that she was here. Karma being what it is usually she phones me right after I post something on FB.
I talked to her briefly she said she was on her way to see an adaughteriction councillor. Great finally she's looking for help. Sometimes I don't think these imprompt to councillors are not that great, they are more you motivated.
Cross fingures she works through it to the end.

What great news to round off your weekend!
This a major achievement... . A real
Biggie!
Fingers crossed your dd will see it through to the end, afterall she is the one seeking out the help so will be more motivated to do the work, but if it doesnt work out with this councillor there are others out there who may be a better match for her.
Apparently when we have good news like this we should down play our emotions because our dd's/ds will view it as criticism in that we didnt the way they were before but I can tell you that if my dd ever told me the same I would be doing cartwheels in here right now:)
please keep us updated.

Hello PyneappleDays,
That is great!
My BPDSD22 is sober... . just sort of woke up one morning, after a few failed attempts at sobriety, and decided to be sober.
There is something about belonging to the AA community that really works for her... . she hasn't fully embraced doing the steps but we have high hopes that someday she will get serious about "step work" and she will begin to have an awareness that she can improve even more. AA is such a great, balanced program. Your DD's addiction councilor will likely recommend that she go to meetings.
SD still has plenty of issues but there is so much a better outcome with her if she isn't using and she has AA to keep her safe.
So happy for you AND your daughter... .
