Hi everyone!

I'd have to check back, but I'm sure I've not posted for at least a year or more.  I have done some volunteering, and even gone back to school full time, so I've been busy, but this part of my life is never far from my thoughts.  It is part of who I am, part of my journey, but not in the way it used to be, at least.

Thanksgiving marked four years since I last saw my immediate family, or spent a holiday with them.  This will be the fifth Christmas creating new traditions with my own family.  I have thought about all of you a lot, how much the people here in this forum helped me set boundaries and get right with myself after a break with my uBPD mother and enabling family.

So much has changed in what seemed like forever at the time... .at points where I never thought I would be better or my situation would improve.  As they say, if I knew now... .Smiling (click to insert in post)

This time of year is difficult, I know.

If I can be of any support, I will do my best.

I promise you, no matter where you are in the process, whatever your situation, if you honestly apply the tools that you find here, and lean on the support that the volunteers and other posters offer, your situation will improve.  I speak from experience.

Thank you all.

I'm not doing a very good job of checking in and being supportive, am I?

I will try harder.

I came here today, because I was somewhere this afternoon and over heard a conversation where two people were talking about BPD.  It's the first time EVER that has happened in four years of me knowing about this.

All the way home, I'm thinking, that I have to get here and look up the site and email it to one of the two people for them, and for them to share with the other.

Outside of individual therapy that I worked through, this was the single most valuable resource that I had available for the better part of the first two years after I went low to no contact with my mother and enabling family... .after I figured out what the heck I was dealing with.

It was like the sun had come up, like I had clarity that I never had before.

I do owe a lot to this forum... .I'm going to share it with others and I will do better to pay it forward here... .although I will say, that I felt it became a good thing for some time that I could function in life and deal with little pestications here and there from my foggy family members, without having to come here and check in and make sure that I was doing the right thing.  I learned such that I gained greater and greater confidence to handle things on my own.

If you are new here, you will too!

BMama,

Thanks for the update and it's great to hear that you are doing well. In fact, it's a nice message for the others here that indeed there can be life and healing.

I also haven't posted forever. However, in my case the situation with my BPDmom is far away from me, so far that I'd almost forgotten and moved on. I'm back today not because I have difficulty with this time of year, but like you just to check in, offer a bit of support, and maybe dig up a few of those old feelings to see how far I've come.
