I'm new to this diagnosis and this board.  Thank GOD I found you!

Here's my question - yesterday, my daughter went to get diapers, proceeded to put on a wig, and steal makeup, which she had money and a coupon for!  I do not understand this wig thing, as she's done this before.  When she bought the wig, we thought it was a phase, but now I'm wondering if she has another personality that we need to deal with.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this with BPD?

I haven't experienced that personally yet. How did you find out about it?

It's really hard to figure them out. But I would think that where that risk taking (thrill seeking) attraction comes in to play in the BPD spectrum, i.e., a trait.

I have not seen this is my dd16 but do you think it is just a disguise? I think it just could be an attempt to hide her identity? My dd has shop lifted too... . while she was shopping with me... . it was just a cheap headband and I would have bought it for her... . I got a funny feeling she was hiding something and I confronted her... . who understands why they do these things... .
