Hurt Feelings

Ok, it's stupid.
I get it. It's to be expected.
Still... .it hurts.
After 25 years of marriage, putting him thru college, raising 3 amazing kids... .
Making sure the grandparents got invitations to everything, cards, art work the kids made when they were young.
Letting the grandparents park their RV in the driveway and plug into the electricity; always making sure there was a meal.
Ok, I didn't get a b-day card this year. That's fine. I figured when the ex went to visit, they gave it to him to give to me, and he threw it away.
But my kids came home from visiting their dad tonight, all with "christmas cards (with their 'gift'".
No card for me.
Yeah, I know, I'm divorced.
But seriously?
25 years?
Yeah, I know, the 'apple didn't fall too far from the tree' (the ex is JUST like his dad... .phew... .)
Whatever.
I need to quit being such a softie.
Pray that my house sells. Now.

Ah Going places, you are not a 'softie', these people were a part of your life for 25 yrs! I get it! You have a right to feel crappy about it. I was with my first H for 10 yrs and it really hurt when we BU and I was no longer considered part of his family. I have not seen or spoken to any of them since. I've had other r/ss that were shorter and same scenario. It is what I've come to expect. So when I BU with my uBPDexh I had no expectations. But just because we know it's expected doesn't mean it's 'stupid'. It still hurts!
p.s. I hope your house sells ASAP!
