This is really frustrating me and I think that if I talk about it and maybe get some insight it will stop bothering me so much.

My 8 yr old son just started taking Ritalin.  He's been having problems at school.  It seems to be helping.  He is on this med because it comes in a caplet that I can open and mix into food (he can't swallow pills).  My BPD husband bounces back and forth between my kids being crazy (he says there is something wrong with them) and then says that they don't need to be babied and I just am a terrible mother and need to be better.

So he didn't know that my son was on Ritalin and when he found out, this is what he said:

"Ritalin is some scary stuff, I don't think he needs it.  I could SELL those, seriously I could SELL those ALL right now."

I couldn't believe it!  It went from "concern" for my son to how he can profit off my son!  So now do I have hide my son's meds from my husband?  This just really smacked me in the face and I can't get it out of my head.

Hi Smileypants , that is an incredible story... .first thing, did you know your husband had drug issues and if not my advice is YES hide your son's drugs ... .your sons issue is a real one and so is your husband's but you will have to do all that you can do to protect your child and yourself from getting caught up in a world of BPD control... .sounds like husband wants the drugs so he will make up excuses not give them to your son... .be careful and good luck, despr8

p.s. my wife of 15 years also has BPD
