BPD

I  need help understanding my 39 year old daughter who has been diagnosed  with BPD and a host of other issues. She won't cook, do her laundry, drive, shop, go to see her gp for scripts ... .infact she will do nothing but sleep,and take meds and demand I feed her... .To me she seems helpless    :'(

I'm at a loss as to how to control all this after 2.5 years as her aggression towards me is at an all time low ... .

She is also totally deaf after a2  bone marrow aspirattion ... .She went totally dear the same day they were done and her behaviour has been out of control since then also... .

Can anyone help me understand this and help me deal with it ... .She has also overdosed on meds, after I made her live in a comfy caravan in the yard .I think she suffered  "separation anxiety" when I did that ... .but I could no longer stand her everyday verbal abuse and her assault on me and my hubby ... .We are in our 60's now and can't put up with this much longer... .

I'm glad you decided to reach out for support for yourself.  Having an adult child with BPD is so very challenging and confusing.  How long ago did your d39 lose her hearing? That must be so very frustrating for her to deal with.  :'(  Was she diagnosed BPD before or after losing her hearing?

Having a camper in the yard for her to have her own space in is a very good housing option.  Has she been accepting this arrangement more and more as time goes on?

It's hard to not to step in and take over when our children won't do what's needed to take care of self. How do you feel about doing so much for her?
