Just need a place to "connect"... .my 39 yr old son has recently returned into my life... .I put an end to our relationship 5 yrs ago... .financial and emotional abuse... .I became ill with stress related illness... .I made an effort to

"show up as a mom" 5 months ago... .but again... .he want me to give him money and if I do writes emails attack ing me in the most vile language... .don't know how to handle this... .Al Anon was helpful at first... .and I continue to use the tools... .but my son is delusional and has a character disorder that makes him impossible to have in my life.

I feel like selling my home and "running away"... .but I enjoy my community and work here.

I am 67 yrs old/single... .and have no family support... .friends yes but no siblings, partner.

I am grateful to have found this site... .I've been feeling like I "am losing my mind"... .and stress makes my

medical condition (autoimmune disorders)"flare".

Will continue to post and read what other have to say

Hello Luisa,

I'm glad that you decided to come back here again.  So much suffering is going on because of the loss of the relationship with him.  I hope that you are able to keep practicing detaching with love and regain some of your health.

Did you study Radical Acceptance also?  I have heard it called Radical Accepting as it is something that is ongoing... .not once and done.

We have some info that may help you with Radical Accepting if you want to look at it:

Lessons:  Radical Acceptance for family members

What do you think?  Is there anything in that info that is helpful to you?

Let us know!  We are  here to offer you support and love.
