I'm not sure how this works. But i have been diagnosed by severe BPD, I feel trapped in my own life. i want to manage it at least. I could go for psychotherapy as my psych suggested, and i don't have many supportive people who really understand what mental illnesses really are. i know i need help... but i can't go alone for sessions in person because i don't trust people, i'm afraid they might harm me...

I think it is great that you are open to treatment and getting better . DBT groups are highly recommended for BPD.  I did one to help me manage my anger that I was feeling towards my daughter and it really helped me in all areas of my life.

The most frustrating thing with working with my daughter is that she didn't see that she had a problem.  I battled her about her inappropriate posts on-line, her friend group, her fascination with vulgar reality TV, her grades, smoking pot.  She was recently charged with harassment in the 2nd degree for hitting someone.  So we are hoping she will see she has a problem.  So far, though, no luck.

My point is, if you want to change, you will.  I also found meditation to be extremely helpful.  It slows down my response time to things.  Take care and good luck.

Hello Gorges,

I also think that it's great that you are open to seeking support. This shows a lot of inner strength

This board, however, is not tailored to people who have BPD, but rather to those who have loved ones who have it. As such, our resources here are limited.

I encourage you to check out the following links, as they can help you better connect with those who can better support you:

Resources for BPD Sufferers

I'm sure I share the feelings of a lot of members here that by reaching out for help, you demonstrate hope

This is the first, bravest step, and I wish you well on your journey
