Does anyone have any feedback on unconvential treatment?

As parents we are at a loss. Our 21yr old daughter wants to get off the heavy duty cocktail of prescriptions she is presently taking, I understand that, the side effects are horrible. She feels numb inside and is in a fog. She is grasping at straws and wants her life back. Her newest idea is medicinal marijuana. I'm told by her that it comes in many forms, each having a different purpose. That is can be obtained in pill form, ordourless and without the side effect of being "high". (I don't even know if this is true or if a fabrication) We are at a loss. We don't know where to begin research from a reputable source. Her "medical" psychiatrist advised he does not know enough about and cannot make a recommendation, although he would still over see the reductions of her meds and she would continue regular therapy. We are scared, that this is just a manipulative ploy by our daughter to obtain legal drugs. I have been told that the amount that is prescribed would only be enough for personal use, so that she could not sell it or share with friends. To be honest, at present I worry that she is selling her prescription meds to buy weed. She does not currently live at home. Part of us wonders if it could help, then how can we say no? She cannot obtain legally at this time without a parent signature. Does anyone have any feedback, positive or negative with this type of treatment? Or any sources of reputable information?

I would also be very curious to hear thoughts on this as my daughter also 21, just brought this up to me as well. She said it makes her less anxious and would rather have the medical marijuana than an anti anxiety drug. The last couple of days she has been so mellow, not really herself is the only way I can put it, and I'm wondering if her meds are causing this. She is only recently diagnosed, and I am struggling so much with everything.

What about mindfulness and buddhist teachings? I am taking an course through udemy.com with Pema Chodron called choosing a different path. It is about when he get triggered "hooked" taking a breath and letting go of our thoughts so we can choose a different path instead of habitual reactions that are destructive. If you daughter really wants help this seems like a safer bet. Unfortunately, my daughter isn't ready to admit that she wants/needs help.
