my first post here, I haven’t read any first posts from others so I’m not exactly sure how much or little to share…. I have a LOT going on… step father with extreme NPD, mother that seems to have developed the same.  I’ve become the family scapegoat, currently no contact with immediate family.  Mother wiped my savings out about 8 years ago, lost my truck which left me unable to continue my line of work and haven’t ever recovered financially and definitely not mentally, but I’m slowly starting to regain my voice and attempt to get out of this rut.  I’m very unsure of what to really say so I’m going to stop there for now.  I’d like to thank everyone that shares and posts here before I stop though.   You are all an inspiration and very brave individuals.

Welcome new member (click to insert in post) Welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing, I know how hard that can be.

So long as you don’t use uniquely identifying information such as real names or addresses etc… then there’s no real risk in sharing.  Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)
You've clearly had a tough time and well done on withstanding that. But it must have been overwhelming and exhausting. So why not start with the single issue that concern you the most ? Is that how to recover mentally or financially or something more specific ?

It's a lot.  Good that you've gotten on here. What other supports are you able to assemble for yourself?  A therapist?  NAMI "family of..." support group? This is not small thing AND you can do it.

Start by knowing that their issues are not your fault!
