My attorney requested a Pre-Trial Conference which we have this month and just curious about others experiences if you could be so kind.  It sounds like this is where the rubber meets the road so to speak when it's been months and months of status hearings. A lot of the stuff I read about PTC is meant for divorcees and that's not me.

My situation--In a post-decree custody matter(9 years div) issues over serious negative custody factors with BPDx, emergency order was granted when substance abuse/ mental health issues manifested mid-legal proceedings. I was arguing her negative behavior to the Court, she denied it and then she was in a hospital a month later for what she denied. Judge saw it in real-time and emergency order-done deal.

Kids with me last 6 months and they are recovering from living with a rage-aholic which is the greatest dream I always wanted for them. When you have to send your children back to an emotional terrorist week after week, year after year it really is a dream come true to watch them stop walking on eggshells and be allowed to have their own feelings and safe space to express them without fear of retaliation.

Still kids love mom organically which I appreciate but BPDx is sadly drifting deeper into her own illness, blaming and denial. She now sees not only me but also her own children as the enemy.  She has court ordered therapeutic visits and therapist says her behavior is hostile, aggressive and seems her goal in therapy is to fabricate lies, alienate me to the children and blame me for all of her problems.  I have understood my adversary from the beginning and have a formidable case, not to mention she is intent on constantly doing the opposite of "smart" any chance she gets. I'm not gloating here just trying to paint the picture.

So any stories, advice, tips or experiences with pre trial conferences?

I am no legal expert so I can only share what we have been told. We are also having a pre-trial conference in a few weeks (child support matters). But our lawyer said that basically it is only lawyers in closed chambers and getting out their calendar to see how this is going to pan out in the future. I am expecting that during this conference the judge will come up with sending us to mediation and then set a trial date.

But maybe things are different for you in your state and with your case?
