Why do they get false protection orders out on us and then want them dropped

I've posted a tad about my x on the other board and then found this one.

I was served with a PO after the x said he would just let me be and go in peace... .I was stunned and I still am not doing well for  all of this.

His reason for the PO were texts I sent to him that he saw as threats aka me reacting to him harshly dumping him and saying I would call his work because h sis not right

I got a po on him but at the hearing the court did not have my file... his attorney tried to get me to agree to just a few week cooling off period as my x said he felt terrible for the breakup and only did so out of low self esteem.

I had no attorney and the judge sorta suggested I seek one... despite him not seeing my file.  His atty also snuck in thatbthe x can still deliver mail on my route in my small complex

Fast fwd to second court hearing ... plan was to settle on a cooling off period as my atty said my case was weak... .x hears voices, said he's going to blow his head off, took out a gun and pointed at me... erratic , unpredictable begphavior he would show up in uniform and harass and hurt me breaking up with me , text while working etc.

My atty almost refused to go back to his side and ask for more than two months... .I had to demand she do so and his side refused to six months

So I was prepped for trial... .nervous I could loose my PO if the judge dropped both... .my atty said usually what they do for one they do for both and her opinion was both were weak.  Unreal. So there we were another six hours in court
It got so bad the judge did a side bar in his chambers and suddenly my atty comes out and says look judge seem so to be leaning towards dropping both we either agree to four months or risk it... .
So I agreed to four months protection

Meanwhile th xBPD is still delivering mail, I still see him as I work from home and I jus can't stand this any more.
My atty refused to go to bat and say he needs to be moved off my route

I live in a subdivision with one road that goes in a circle that he sits his truck on and moves it a few feet each loop he does... .one way in Andy out and I'm trapped inside as he lives life.

I'm still baffled with why he wanted less time and wouldn't agree to six months... .was it because he wants all his arsenal back or is it to come after me.   I have nightmares still. And July it's another court hearing .

I sometimes wish I had just gone for trial and hoped to get anpermenant PO.   I just can't even believe the x did this to me either. I'm just not handling this well at all
