CBT
« on: May 08, 2017, 01:43:13 PM »

Hi.

My mother is BPD/narcissist. I've been going no contact which has worked. I see myself having personality traits like hers. I just had a son 10mo old, and I don't want to pass on my traits to him or let him see behind my curtain of mental illness. I am seeing a therapist and we are doing CBT work. Going for a psych avail this week due to suicidal idealizations. Anyone have experienced this before and can offer things that helped create a home that was different to theres?

Hi Madeline Blue,

I am so sorry to hear that things are difficult for you right now

It is great to see you reaching out for help and support - a very brave and scary thing to do.

This particular site is a support group for those who are or were in a relationship with a person with BPD. Do you feel you may have BPD? If so, many of the posts can be triggering.

There are good resources for BPD sufferers if that is what you're seeking: Resources for BPD Sufferers.
