My wife and I are going to attempt to settle, on our own. My lawyer told me today some of the questions that will be asked of my wife if it gets to the point of having depositions. He asked me how did your wife support herself from 2000-2011 when she married you?
I think she had jobs here and there and help from her mother but other than that I am not sure if she had any steady employment.
I told him I my be able to do an employment history search on her. Can that be done using an SS#?
He will ask her what she did in that period of time, since she is asking alimony from me.
thanks for any help, also has anyone here ever used truthfinder.com? if so did you get a lot of detailed information? Which is the best online search?

I would probably try to get copies of her tax returns at that time, the L can probably request them from your wife directly. I don't know of any searches to find employment history based on SSN. Does your wife have a linked in or a resume somewhere? That might list employment.

You could also ask the lawyer if you can require... compel... whatever the tax records from then.
Not sure how far back you can go, but there are forms that banks use where they get transcripts. That will show any w-2 or "above board" work that she has done.
