My daughter and I moved here from the US about 2 1/2 years ago. She's had a really rough adjustment to the move, and things spiraled out of control.
She's always been a good kid, but very moody and difficult at the same time. At first she was treated for anxiety at Children's Hospital, but it didn't do any good. Later, after the move, the depression came. Last year she started cutting, and became suicidal. (This is a VERY condensed version.)
I decided to let her move back to the US to go live with my ex, on the condition that he get her a psych eval and proper treatment. He never did. Her school counselors could not handle her either. After an incident where CPS got involved, it was decided that she should move back in with me.
She's almost 15 years old now, and still struggling SO HARD. I am going to be homeschooling her, because she has dropped out or been expelled from almost every single grade she's been in, starting in second grade. I mean, who expells a second grader? Yep, the signs do start that early.
So, now she's home, and I'm on the hunt for an English speaking psychiatrist and DBT group. We live way up in the north end of the country (I can see Lebanon from here), but it looks like when our lease is up we are going to have to move to Jerusalem, because that's where all the services are.
I am going to have to have to leave my friends and my beach front home, but my kiddo needs help, she genuinely wants to get help, and I need to make this happen while I still can.
Oy vey. Anyone here stressed about Pesach?

Hi
Seekandfind
,
I'm glad you found our site and have posted to reach out for help and encouragement. How did you learn about bpdfamily?
I'm very sorry for all the struggle you have gone through with your D15, but thankful she has you in her life to support her. There is a whole lot of change going on for both of you right now. What are you able to do to care for yourself? You will need support and care as well.

Hi Seekandfind
Welcome to the bpdfamily. Sadly our children's challenges bring us here but thankfully so. Parents here really understand what you are going through.
It must be equally difficult for you and your ex being so far apart as I can hear how much you both care about her.
Im glad you are seeking support through a psychiatrist and DBT. It sounds like you have a good understanding of the issues? Do you have other personal support too?
There is also a wealth of information to the right
. I have recently read "Loving Someone with Borderline Personality Disorder" by Shari Manning. There is a dedicated information there on BPD and Suicide. I could understand the depths of despair you must be feeling.
Keep coming and sharing. We all care and support each other in our journeys. Its part of our healing and caring for ourselves too.
