My D was diagnose with bps 4 years ago when her father died. I have since than remarried but she still has the illness. She is now 17 years old before she was a straight A student than the grades dropped can't get her to go to school in her mi d everyone was talking about her. So we signed her up for an on line school which she will not do. Gone through all her friends were they don't want to be around her, she has been violent and calls me all kinds of names. She has been seeing a therapist who does DPT for 4 years, and a phy. At a nearby hospital. He put her on meds but she doesn't take them. She knows how to turn things around and be a regular person but chooses not to in group she likes to help the other girls but not herself. She has been hospitalized 3 times. I was thinking of sending her to a therapy house like a rehab while I can so she can hopefully finally see the light. Has anyone else done this and what was the outcome?

Hi hopeless713
I would just like to welcome you and to say how sorry I am that you find yourself in your current situation, it must be so difficult and frustrating for you when your daughter refuses to help herself and doesn’t take her meds.
You say that you are thinking of sending her to a therapy house in the hope that she finally sees the light, do you think that she might be in denial of her diagnosis?

You say that she is now stealing, do you know why she is stealing, do you think it might be part of her BPD?

As a mom of a D who has been through it for 7 years I would say put her in any kinds of treatment where she is forced to go prior to turning 18. Once she is 18 its harder to do anything as she would then be considered an adult and going to therapy or getting any treatment would be totally her decision. I personally wish I could go back in time. I definitely would have take my D and put her into a dual diagnosis treatment center.
Right now she started going to therapy and then stopped. I cant make her go. It really sucks.
